One of the challenges for teams is that the achievement of some of their goals are not fully under their own control - they need to be achieved in partnership with, or even in spite of, external parties (stakeholders) who are working to their own agendas and priorities. The Stakeholder Collaboration Game allows teams to simulate increasingly complex scenarios involving multiple goals and multiple stakeholders.

Instructions for use

Here is how you can use The Stakeholder Collaboration Game with your team to explore the dynamics of external stakeholder collaboration:

1. Spilt your group into two teams if you want to do a competitive learning session

2. The objective each time is to achieve all the goals in the shortest timeframe remembering that achieved goals can become unachieved if you neglect them!

3. Define 3 scenarios and set these up using the Settings Button in the game

4. Setup the first scenario as just 1 goal and just 1 stakeholder to let the teams get familiar with the dynamics and operation of the game

5. Then present the teams with 2 more complex scenarios (see inside the game for more details)

6. For each goal you can set
- Whether it is active or not
- The start point of the goal in terms of its completion
- The degree of direct impact you have on the goal
- The degree of effort needed to just maintain the goals current position
So for example, you could have a "nearly achieved goal" which is high maintenance and a "low starting" goal with low maintenance

7. For each stakeholder you can set
- Whether it is active or not
- How much impact you have on them
- How much impact they have on your goal
- Their starting attitude to each goal ( oppose, neutral or support)
- The degree of effort needed to just maintain the stakeholders goals current attitude

So for example, you could have a neutral stakeholder with medium impact and medium maintenance and a negative stakeholder with low impact and low maintenance
