Staff motivation: workplace apathy rampant
BBC News reports in Workforce suffers afternoon apathy on new research by ICM that more than 40% of the total UK workforce are said to be suffering from "afternoon apathy" which is costing the British economy at least £3.9 billion a year.
The report puts a lot the blame on carbohydrate-loaded lunches.
However if you put this into the wider context alongside other items such as Web surfing destroys office productivity: chilling new statistics then it may also be telling us something about the motivational problems faced in todays in traditional 9-5 co-located organisations.
