Virtual Team Support - blogs, wikis and RSS
The Virtual Collaboration Dream Team’ - blogs, wikis and RSS? ‘Blogs Build Business Appeal’, 1 June 2005, in Linuxworld Australia, suggests that blogs are evolving beyond ‘personal things’ to tools which could support collaborative working in virtual project teams.
On one side of the debate an on-line project management tool provider suggests that blogs are excellent ways for project teams to communicate on issues.
On the other side of the fence a couple of contributors suggest that blogs would need to be complimented by wiki’s if you want to move beyond team communication into real virtual team collaboration.
It looks to me like the future ‘co-evolutionary triangle’ of blogs, wikis, and RSS (which the article does not mention) will provide very interesting and innovative new technology possibilities for virtually networked teams.
Blog-Wiki-RSS is another must watch area for virtual team leaders!
