Bio giant GSK counts on virtual network for new drug discovery
Stumble It!GlaxoSmithKline, Britain's biggest pharmaceutical company, is to launch a drug development initiative to take advantage of opportunities outside the company.
According to chief executive Jean-Pierre Garnier, "The virtual Cedd (Centre of Excellence for Drug Discovery) is about reaching beyond the walls to the world's laboratory". The virtual unit will consist of a small team of scientists focused on doing deals with biotechs, small and mid-sized pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions.......
